What Classes are run by the club?

The club runs its race days following the rules of the New Zealand Radio Car Association, the governing body for Radio Control Car racing in NZ www.nzrca.co.nz for the IC classes.

Electric racing is run as an all comers class allowing anyone to experience the fun of R/C car racing.

The main classes run on a club day are:-

1/8th Buggy

This class is for 1/8th scale Off Road buggies. They should be powered with up to a .21 Cubic inch internal combustion engine

1/8th Truggie

This class is for 1/8th scale Truggies (A cross between a Truck and a Buggy). They may be powered by up to a .21

1/10 Off Road Stock

This class is for 1/10th Off Road 2wd and 4wd Cars with Silver Can Motors Only

1/10th Off Road Mod

This class is for 1/10th Off Road, 2wd and 4wd cars with no motor limit.

1/10th On Road Stock

This Class is for 1/10th On Road, 2wd and 4wd cars with Silver Can Motors Only.

1/10th On Road Super Stock

This Class is for 1/10th On Road, 2wd and 4wd cars with either:

  • Brushed - Tamiya 23 Turn Superstock motor, or any higher turn motor with fixed timing
  • Brushless - 13.5 Turn Sensored or 3300kV Brushless
